Popular Color Trends for Spring 2012 – Home Decor, Clothing, & Beauty

April 25, 2012

Every Spring, new colors are introduced for the season, and old colors are brought back into style. This year, it’s no different. Spring used to be synonymous with pastels–baby pinks, baby blues, yellow, etc. However, a new trend is making a splash: color blocking with bright colors. Looks like Summer trends are appearing a little bit early this year!

In today’s blog post, I’m going to share with everyone some fun ways to put these colors into action. Whether it be in clothing, home decor, or beauty, there is definitely a theme going on!

From Glamour Mag

Tangerine

From Justdodesign

Adding a tangerine couch to a room with white walls automatically adds a splash of color into the home.

Mustard Yellow

From Polyvore

Mustard yellow may be too overwhelming for a head to toe look, however it is a great accent piece for your wardrobe. It also goes well with neutrals!

Royal Blue

From House Beautiful

If a large colorful couch is too much color for you, why not try smaller upholstered chairs? Not only would these look great for the dining room, they are also great pieces in the living room.

Magenta

From ThisNext

To make a little black dress more Springtime appropriate, add a colorful magenta heel!

Tan Taupe

From Daily Look

If you’re sporting a color blocking outfit, add a neutral taupe clutch to complete the ensemble. With so many types of clutches available these days, you are bound to find one perfect for a romantic night, or just a casual day out.

Mint green

From My Fashion Beauty Tips

The light mint green color has been extremely popular for 2012!

Baby pink

From Bijou Kaleidoscope

Remember when the sole use of baby pink paint was for painting rooms for baby girls ? Pink now has a new purpose! With so many shades of pink, you can definitely find a shade to match a sophisticated home decor style.

Grey

From Jakabare

If pink walls are not your cup of tea, you can try grey paint! Contrary to popular belief, grey is not as drab as you think!

Purple

From Cozy Biscuit

Try a set of purple dining ware for the table instead of white! It instantly adds a touch of Spring into your kitchen.

Turquoise

From Zuniga Interiors

Turquoise is a popular accent color for the season. Not only is it perfect for the Spring, it can also carry over to be a Summer time color!

Spring Picnic Ideas – At Home Or In the Great Outdoors

April 20, 2012

Picnics are great activities to engage in during the Springtime. Not only is the weather perfect, but the green and colorful scenery is the perfect backdrop!

Do you remember classic picnics in the old days–sitting on a checkered tablecloth on the ground, eating homemade sandwiches and drinking lemonade? I certainly do! However, picnics have come a long way since then. Many people go all out in decorating their picnic areas!

In today’s blog post, I’m going to share with everyone a few fun ideas for your next Spring picnic! Leave the checkered tablecloth behind and add a new touch to your dining area!

From Celeb Style

Instead of using plain paper plates and plastic cups, why not up the ante and bring your nicer dining ware? It turns a casual picnic into a sophisticated dining affair.

From Inspiration For Home

Instead of sitting on the hard ground, why not bring a few comfy pillows to use as cushions? Whether you’re sitting on a checkered cloth or on a tree stump, comfort is definitely necessary.

From Modern Home Idea

Decorate your picnic table with fresh blooms! For a more sophisticated picnic table, try adding a table runner. You can DIY one or pick one up from your local superstore.

From Sunset

Tired of sandwiches in your picnic basket? Why not fill up your next picnic basket with fancier finger foods such as deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail, or a light salad!

From Cake Events Blog

If you’re having an indoor picnic, bring the outdoors inside by decorating your table with fresh Spring blooms! Create a tablescape (like the image above) and enjoy the Springtime in the comfort of your home.
