Wreaths are popular during Christmastime because they add a whole lot of holiday spirit to your home. They come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and styles for every holiday! The most popular wreath holiday is definitely Christmas. Poinsettias are usually the wreath of choice for the winter holidays, but many others (such as ornaments or bountiful ones) are also gaining popularity.
Decorative wreaths are great for Christmas, however, edible wreaths are even better! I’m not talking about a large, 18″ wreath that you can eat. I’m talking about mini ones! Today, I’m going to share with everyone a fun little edible food project inspired from Work In Progress Kit Blog to make chocolate covered pretzel wreaths!
- round pretzels
- white chocolate
- green food coloring
- red piping gel (or any other type of decorative icing)
Melt the white chocolate according to directions and add a drop or 2 of green food coloring until you reach a desired green color. Dip the round pretzels into the chocolate, put on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper and sprinkle on the sprinkles before it hardens. Place the tray into the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Remove from the fridge and pipe on a bow on your wreath.
This idea is a fun edible project the whole family can help with. Kids will love getting to sprinkle the sprinkles onto the wreaths (and eating it too)!
