The weeks after Halloween usually play out like this: gorge myself on Halloween candy and end up with a mountain size mound of candy wrappers. Throughout the years, the mound has gotten significantly smaller, but I still cannot help myself on the Halloween candy!
While I was shoveling the mess into the trashcan, I can’t help but be a amused by all the bright colors. What a waste it is to be throwing all that away! I remember long time ago, I came across a boutique that sold handbags and accessories made from candy wrappers! I was thinking “I could probably make one with all the candy wrappers I accumulate over Halloween!” Let’s take a look at all the fun things that can be made from discarded candy wrappers!
Creating these pieces is harder than it looks, but you’ll get the hang of it after a few wrappers. One common way is to weave them into a pattern (shown in the first 3 pieces above). There are tutorials and videos online to teach you how to do it. Once you learn how to weave a basic formation, you can experiment and create almost anything of your choice! I’m already gathering up inspiration and tutorials to prepare for this Halloween! Now I won’t feel so bad about eating all those goodies anymore!
