Shamrock Pretzels for St. Patrick’s Day
Shamrocks are undeniably one of the most recognized St. Patrick’s Day icons out there. Every one knows that if you find a four leaf clover, it will bring you luck! Today’s post will be the first of many shamrock themed posts that you will find here on our blog for St. Patrick’s Day. I’m going to share with everyone a fun recipe to make edible shamrocks out of pretzels!
Ingredients:
- pretzels (choose any size you like, depending on how big you want your shamrock to be)
- white chocolate chips
- green icing
- green food coloring (optional)
- green sprinkles (optional)
Temper the white chocolate chips until it is melted (do not over heat!) Dip the pretzels into the white chocolate and place on wax paper. To make 4 leaf clovers, use 4 pretzels! Assemble the clover as soon as possible to make sure the “petals” of the leaves stay together. Use broken pretzel bits to make the stem, and dip them in chocolate as well!
To decorate the shamrock, you can either pipe on green icing on top or add green food coloring to the white chocolate. You can also add sprinkles on top before it dries! It is up to you!
Will you be trying this recipe out this St. Patrick’s Day? If you are, would you be making 4 leaf clovers, or 3 leaf clovers? Let us know in the comments below! Also, let us know how you decorate your shamrock!
St. Patrick’s Day Green Ice Cream Jello
While combing through the internet for fun St. Patrick’s Day ideas to share with everyone, I came across a fun picture of a tiered green jello, perfect for the holiday! I looked into it further and found that the recipe is actually for a green ice cream jello. I know what you’re thinking right now: “ice cream jello???” (I had the same thought)! Whatever it is, I’m already a fan!
I’m going to share with everyone an easy recipe to make green ice cream jello for St. Patrick’s Day! This recipe is inspired by a post from the Food Librarian.
Ingredients:
- 2 packets of green jello mix
- 1 packet of unflavored gelatin mix
- 4 cups water (boiling hot)
- ice cream (~1 quart, or less if you want more layers of jello)
In a bowl, dissolve the the packets of mix in the boiling water. Once the mix is completely dissolved, stir in the ice cream until that has dissolved as well.
Pour into a glass dish or a jello mold. Refrigerate overnight or until solid.
The ice cream will float to the top during the coagulating process!
This recipe is super easy and can be prepared with minimal ingredients. It’s almost as easy as making regular jello, except with 2 extra ingredients!
If you’re hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party and am crunched for time, this recipe is perfect for you! You can make it ahead of time (or the night before) and serve when ready.
Have you heard of ice cream jello before? Let us know in the comments below! This idea is new to us, but we are so excited to share with everyone for St. Patrick’s Day!

Yummy DIY Valentine’s Day Marshmellow Pops
Marshmellows are one of those treats that I always find myself overindulging in. Their fluffy, yummy, aerated texture definitely doesn’t help the cause! They look like a lot in volume, but actually isn’t (or that’s what I tell myself everytime I take another out of the bag).
Any type of sweet treat is perfect for Valentine’s Day. Marshmellows definitely fit the bill! However, giving your loved ones a bag of marshmellows isn’t as sweet as it sounds. We at here at HomeSeasons like things to be taken up a notch! Today’s blog post will teach everyone a fun recipe idea to turn ordinary marshmellows into delectable marshmellow pops!
Before I share with everyone the directions, here are some inspiration pictures to help you decide how to decorate your own Valenetine’s Day marshmellow pop.
Ingredients & Supplies:
-
large marshmellows
-
a cup
-
a dish
-
lollipop sticks (or disposable chopsticks)
-
colored candy melts (or chocolate melts)
-
nonpariels, sprinkles, or any other edible embellishments
Insert the sticks into the marshmellows ~3/4th way in, and set aside for later.
In a bowl, melt the candy melts according to instructions on the package (or temper the chocolate if you are using chocolate). Once the mixture reaches a creamy texture (not too creamy, a little like cake mix batter), you can start dipping the marshmellows in.
Dip the marshmellows in the melted candy. You can dip just the top, or the whole thing! Before the candy dries, you have a little bit of time to dip the marshmellow in a dish of sprinkles and nonpariels. If you take too long, the candy will dry and nothing will stick to it.
Place the marshmellow pops in a cup (stick down!) for the pops to dry.
To give these pops away, you can wrap a little bit of cel0ophane over the marshmellow pop and tie a ribbon to secure. Add a little gift tag letting them know who its from!
I’m excited to make these marshmellow pops for my friends and family for Valentine’s Day. Something tells me that these will be a favorite of everyone. Let us know if you decide to DIY marshmellow pops to give away for Valentine’s Day this year. If you make some of your own, share pictures with us below!
